Actress Jodelle Ferland, who plays Bree Tanner (the vampire that Stephanie Meyer’s new novella is based on) rocking the red carpet at the Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere last night wearing Left Turn Earrings! This premiere was one of the biggest premieres of the year!!
Jodelle was nominated for an Emmy at 4 years old and has since been in a string of over 50 films, including this blockbuster.

The Cannes Film Festival turned out to be a great event for Left Turn. Our jewelry was worn at the big events around town and we even got featured on MTV! Our La Belle de Cannes Collection, as well as some of my favorite pieces, were introduced to the European fashion media and were a hit with everyone that came into the style studio at the Palais Miramar. Very exciting! With the Cannes Film Festival behind us, I’m looking forward to a very busy month of June.
Our “Fabulous Jewels and Fresh Organics” summer trunk show with Kimberly Parry Organics is going to be fantastic! We’ll be featuring our new “Bare it All Collection” while Kimberly will introduce her toxin free organic skin care and body products. The show is set for June 24th at the Left Turn Gallery. Left Turn has officially gone international! Our newest collection debuts with the opening of the Cannes Film Festival today. We’ve named it “La Belle de Cannes” to celebrate the film festival and Left Turn’s participation in it. The look and feel of the collection recalls the glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood and I had a great time designing the collection, imagining how the necklaces would have looked on some of the stars of that time.
My personal favorites are Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe, Katharine, and Audrey Hepburn. The La Belle de Cannes collection was created with these wonderful women in mind. The necklaces and earrings are infused with some of my favorite and most vibrant gemstones including tourmaline, sky blue topaz, and sapphires. If you’re not familiar with these stones you can see them in our collections on the site. They are GORGEOUS!
And last but certainly not least, I would like to say “Thank you” to all the new and old friends of Left Turn who stopped by our trunk show at the Montage Resort with Oscar de la Renta over the Mother’s Day weekend. Your support helped us have one of our most successful shows ever!

Wow! Our Left Turn Collection is going to be spotlighted at the 63rd running of The Cannes Film Festival which starts next week. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all of us at Left Turn and while I don’t quite know what to expect, the path we’re on is just so exciting.
The Left Turn Collection will be shown in the Palais Miramar, one of Cannes’ most famous hotels. If you’re going to the event, the hotel is on the Blvd de la Croisette, on the seafront of Cannes. The fashion studio is being hosted by one of our newest partners, “Chic Little Devil”, which is one of the hottest style houses around. We’ve got some surprises up our sleeve for the festival that we can’t talk about yet so that will have to wait until next week.
Did I mention our Mother’s Day trunk show with Oscar de la Renta at the Montage Resort Laguna Beach? Left Turn will unveil our best Mother’s Day collection ever at the event. I’m really thrilled with this vibrant collection of necklaces and earrings and can’t wait to see them paired with the fabulous designs of Oscar de la Renta’s 2010 Fall Runway Sample Collection. All guests will receive a beautiful Mother’s Day gift bag with memorable tokens from Left Turn and Oscar de la Renta.

One year ago, in a little cottage in Laguna Beach five people set out to create the most kick ass, colorful giant necklaces the world had ever seen. Judy at the helm took the biggest gemstones available and designed beautiful “nasty” necklaces, then Big Money G took the designs up to see Vince, Bianca and Karen to be commented on. Vince the master of all things ‘handy’ picked up a camera and photographed. Even if the air was as brisk as an Alaskan winter day! Karen the “writing poet” took on the task of naming each design and Bianca created printing pieces people just couldn’t resist. We grew out the cottage and moved over to “yee-ah-ttz cafe” or better known to everyone else as Inductors!
All that creativity lead to a beautiful website!
Liz, the bouncy socialite was added to the ever-growing family that Left Turn was becoming. But G&J didn’t stop there; we added the cutest little munchkin named Erin, now known as the “newest Mrs. MacDonald”.
Then there was a store!
Crazy days, chaotic office shenanigans all lead to the exposure we were waiting for. Even mamma Marge jumped in on the fun and added our weekly event now known as inventory Monday mania (or WWE with Mom).
This story does not end here but continues for another year and with a little luck, the same cute girls and the very handy gentlemen we’ll continue for many more years.

The nicest people visit our gallery here in Laguna Beach. Just last week, four life-long friends wandered in after a fun girls’ day out. Loaded with packages, these lovely ladies walked in arm in arm excited by our gemstone display. We found out that Monica Anderson, Lisa Gorsuch, Laura Fuller, and Monica Botwinski have been friends since high school and through college years. They were gathering from different areas of the country to come to Monica’s home in Newport Coast for a weekend of shopping, dining and gabbing. When they walked into our gallery, they fell in love with our natural gemstone necklaces and had so much fun learning and trying on several. The favorites were “Chantilly Lace”, gorgeous cascading black pearl and crystal quartz; “Solstice”, a multi-stranded graduated color citrine concoction, “Victoria” white pearls dotted with lemon quartz and amethyst, and “Bouquet”, a bronzy-keishi pearl necklace.
Left Turn VIPS like Monica, Lisa, Laura and Monica are what make our days here at our shop fun!
One of our favorite admires, Susan Arredondo, stepped into Left Turn not expecting the wonderful surprise she was about to get. Susan’s lovely husband wanted to surprise his wife with a beautiful gift on their anniversary. Left Turn gladly accepted the challenge and surprised Susan with the necklace. It surely was a sweet surprise for Susan and we are glad we captured it. Much kudos Mr. Arredondo!
